At High Kirk Community Playgroup this month we have lots planned for the children to enjoy!
Autumn and Harvest is our theme this month with a focus on the colour brown and the square is the shape we are learning about this month.
We look forward to learning about vegetables and healthy eating. We are planning to read “Olivers Vegetables” by Vivian French which is a great story for fussy eaters, with lots of different vegetables to recognise and count, and the book also introduces children to the days of the week!
During October and November High Kirk Community Playgroup will also be taking part in the Bookstart Rhyme Challenge.
We love the Rhyme challenge as it;
- Helps children develop early language skills.
- Supports children and families to enjoy learning together.
- Contribute towards all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage which the children will eventually move on to.
- Encourages children to become confident with words and to become good listeners.
With lots more planned for this month we are sure that October at High Kirk Community Playgroup is going to be absolutely packed with fun, learning and the children growing together.
